The application has been submitted to Google, which means that in the coming weeks and months, Google personnel will be carefully going over the submissions and considering which community to choose -- which means this is our time to really shine! We have a chance to stand out as the tenacious little city we are, so when Google pulls up our app and, well, Googles us, they'll see we're still excited about the opportunities that Google Fiber would bring to our community.

I See Google!

Here are two PDFs of the Connect Ventura logo and one of the Ventura Hearts Google sign. Print them out, go out in our beautiful city, and take pictures of the logo in various cool places. Be creative, but most of all, have fun! Send them to our Picasa photo-sharing account via email:

Where do we go from here?

We plan to make a large banner and hang it prominently so that everyone knows we're still serious about Google. We're alredy well on the way to financing it (note: NO city money was spent on any of our efforts, the entire initiative was accomplished by citizen volunteers). We've set up a domations page at Invested.in -- we've got $105 so far towards our $350 goal.

Please help if you can, and please do not stop telling friends and neighbors about Google Fiber. Our continued enthusiasm can make a differenfce!

We need to continue to build our strong online community. And, look at it this way -- even if we don't get Google, our online community will still be a wonderful asset for us as we look to the future!
